Description
Beige Travertine Classico Cross Cut is a light cream-beige travertine from Iran, cut across the natural layers of the stone. Instead of straight bands, the slab shows a soft, cloudy pattern (sometimes called fleuri) with small natural holes and gentle changes of tone. It is one of the most versatile travertines for both interiors and outdoor areas.
Beige Travertine Classico Cross Cut is one of our signature stones: the stones we know best and keep in stock at our warehouse in Emirates Industrial City, Sharjah, so you can see the actual slabs before you order.
What cross cut means
Travertine forms in layers. Cutting the block across the layers (cross cut) gives a cloudy, non-directional pattern, while cutting along them (vein cut) gives straight bands. Because the cross-cut pattern has no direction, it is easy to lay over large areas and the joins between slabs are less visible. For a linear look in the same colour, see Beige Travertine Classico Vein Cut.
Where to use Beige Travertine Classico Cross Cut
- Large floors in villas, lobbies and shopping areas
- Pool surrounds, terraces and garden paths (choose a honed, brushed or tumbled finish outside)
- Exterior facades and wall cladding
- Bathroom floors and walls (filled and sealed)
- Staircases, landings and window sills
- Feature walls in Mediterranean and classic interiors
Finishes, thickness and sizes
We supply this stone as polished 2 cm and 3 cm slabs. The natural holes can be filled for a smooth surface or left open for a rustic look. Ask our sales team about honed, brushed or tumbled finishes, tiles and cut-to-size pieces for your project.
Design tips
Cross-cut beige travertine creates a calm, sunny background that suits wood, rattan, terracotta, olive greens and whitewashed walls. Many projects use cross cut on floors and vein cut on feature walls, so the room has one colour but two textures.
Care and maintenance
Travertine is a natural calcium stone, so avoid acidic cleaners such as vinegar, lemon or bathroom descalers. Clean it with a pH-neutral stone cleaner, and seal it after installation, especially in bathrooms, kitchens and outdoor areas. Re-seal wet areas from time to time.

Which is better for floors, vein cut or cross cut?
Both work well. Vein cut gives a linear, directional look that makes rooms feel longer. Cross cut gives a softer, more even look and hides the joins between slabs, so it is often chosen for large floors.
